Writer's Circle News

Entries have been coming in for the poetry Competition, all I might add in Limerick form
 Great entries from Jack Delaney from Bective,  Sarah McShane  and Brian Bourke from Navan so far.

There will be one change in the team that won last year's Battle of the Books and we are extremely lucky to have acquired one of Meath's top satirists for our team

The date for the launch of the long awaited 'Haunted Meath has been set for sometime around the Halloween Festival
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Famine Trilogy which contains the long poem of that name as well as two other poems on the famine making it a trilogy within a trilogy is now at the proof reading stage.  A chap book it also contains graphic accounts of life in Ireland and on the coffin ships back in the 1840s.  Should be on the shelves within weeks.

All are invited to read their poems in the Scurlogstown Cottage on Sunday next 19th June

Thursday 16th June sees the launch of Arthur Broomfield's new collection in the County Hall Portlaoise

Well worth having a listen to Mark Doyle's reading over on the Tara poetry blog.  Mark is the 10th reader to have been videoed at the last meeting of the Meath Writer's Circle
